Artist Statement from Gareth Eckley

” I love the moment when the portrait carving comes to life before my eyes. I find it exciting to see the personality of the subject captured in gemstone. I feel that I invest a part of myself in every portrait that I create.”

My aim is to build great customer experiences. To innovate, introducing exciting new products or services that relate to my core services of cameo portraiture, custom designed jewelry and family crest rings.

My studio is on a farm in the Black Mountains area of Wales. There is a nature reserve on the property, with waterfalls, woods and mountains nearby. I feel that the beauty of this area is a major source of inspiration for my creative work.
